6 weeks: The amount of time between now and me standing with my back to the wall between the US and Mexico. Staring with idealized eyes at the horizon to the North. I will set off with one step towards that horizon, the first step of what I hope to be some 6 million as I chase the horizon across the height of the United States along the Pacific Crest Trail to my ultimate destination 9 miles into E.C. Manning Provincial Park in British Columbia some 2662 miles away. That is if you can call a simple intersection between trail and road with nothing in particular to see and nothing to do but wait for a passing car to take me back to civilization a destination. This isn’t a pilgrimage, there is no salvation waiting for me at the end. This is about me being able to continue putting foot in front of foot and finding what I can in myself, in my company, and in my country.
It’s all about finding smiles in the miles.
